I’ve helped thousands of people to play their ukuleles, ranging between 10 in a team to a company of 150 people (yes, that’s right, all at once!). I’ll show you, too, if you want to learn.
I was taught to play ukulele by Hester & George from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain in 2007. Before that, my only musical experience was tootling ‘London’s Burning’ badly on the recorder at school. I remember how it feels to be unable to play anything and I then remember the excitement and joy that comes when you nail it! On a personal note, I’m dyspraxic, so I have issues with fine and gross motor control. For this reason, I’m a very patient ukulele teacher, who will hold your hand as you progress through your first, second and third steps on the ukulele. I look forward to sharing the joy that you get when you nail it.
I’ve had some life-changing moments with the ukulele, such as organising a Ukulele Flash Mob in Trafalgar Square and playing for Dizzee Rascal with KaraUke on Radio 1. I hope to introduce life changing moments for everyone. Even if it’s just the self-satisfaction that the nasty music teacher at school was wrong about your talents. Uke can play. (Sorry, I also love bad puns.)
